At Healthy Start’s October General Membership meeting, Edna Apostol, Executive Director of Gulfcoast South Area Health Education was honored for her partnership and support to Healthy Start Manatee for the past 12 years.

Donna Vellenga, Healthy Start board member, presented the award to Edna and thanked her for her commitment to moms and babies.

“ Edna has the intelligence and passion for maternal child health.  She is a great friend of Healthy Start Manatee and her contributions include board trainings, support to our CHW program, providing CEUs at our monthly trainings, cultural competence and health literacy trainings.  Edna has been a valuable member of our health problem analysis committee and instrumental in the last three service delivery plan updates” said Donna Vellenga.
